Combined Pentecost Service

 May 30, 2020

By Peter Smit

This weekend it’s Pentecost!

Pentecost means ‘fifty,’ and it’s a time in the Church calendar year where we celebrate the arrival; of the Holy Spirit roughly fifty days after the crosswork of Jesus that brought forgiveness for sins and reconciliation with God. At Pentecost we remember that God came to us in an unfathomably special way: God the Holy Spirit is here. We’re not alone, just as Jesus promised we wouldn’t be:
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18

A special thanks to everyone who participated in our service today. Thanks to Asher Van Wollingen for his assistance in organising the filming,  to the Hope music team for leading us in song and to Marianne Van Dam from Gosnells CRC  for presenting the children’s talk. Marianne has also provided kids sheets (See below) for the children to use.

Let’s pray that the Lord will pour out his Spirit on us all to enable us to praise him and proclaim the good news of the gospel.

Hey KIDS FOR CHRIST!
