Romans 16:17-27

Well we are here. The final sermon in our Romans series. How do we cap it off? We cap it off like Paul caps it off: with the gospel that he started with. What Christians have in our pockets, at our disposal, lifting us up, pushing us forward, curling our lips into smiles, and giving reason and purpose for life.... is faith in the good news about Jesus. It’s all about Jesus. It’s only about Jesus! We’re for Jesus, and through Him we get to do exactly that for which we were created: glorify God and praise His name. We cannot do this. We just can’t. It’s impossible. But it’s possible for God and He made it possible through Jesus. What Christians have is faith, trust, assurance, confidence expectation that God will see to completion that which he started: our salvation. And thus because of Him we can echo the closing exultation of Paul: “to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen!”
