Stealing isn't loving. We know that. When we take anything that is not ours, we're not loving God and we're not loving people. So why do we do it? Surely it's because we've believed some kind of lie: a lie that we deserve it more than they do; or that we need more; or simply that money is worth taking. Whatever lie it is that we follow, the verdict is the same: it wasn't loving, and it wasn't trusting. We recognise Jesus, because what did he do? He didn't take anything, but gave everything.
